Tips for College Grad Photos

Every Post

It’s almost time to graduate from college! Last time we looked at tops for High School Senior pictures, this week we look at tips and ideas for seniors in college.

Option 1: Campus Shoot

More than likely you’ve spent the last few years of your life on your college campus. So take pictures in your cap and gown here at your specific college or favorite landmark to help you remember it! You can also grab some of your friends to take pictures with you while they’re still on campus too!

Option 2: Career/School Theme

If you’re going to Grad school, medical school, or law school next, you can make that announcement with this option and get cool senior pictures in the process. With this option you can grab a chalkboard and announce the next school you’ll be attending or the next step in your academic journey. For example, if you’re going to medical school you might want to grab a white coat and a stethoscope prop for a picture.

If you’re going into your career next you might want to pick a theme that matches the job you want or a job you’ve accepted! For example, if you’re going to be a teacher, you might want to take a picture in a classroom with some school supply props.

Option 3: Champagne!

This shoot is only for college grads who are 21 and up! This idea involves the grad popping a bottle of champagne open in celebration. The photographer will capture the moment all the champagne pops out and fizzes around the new grad!

Option 4: Sports/Clubs

If you played sports in college you’ll probably want to take pictures that represent that part of your college career. Pictures on a tennis court or lacrosse field with your gear can help you remember the great times you had playing your college sport.

If you were involved with clubs on campus you might want to incorporate that into your photo shoot. For example, if you were part of a student government you might want to take a picture near the office for that organization.

Option 5: Indoor Candid

This is a good option if you want to take those grad pictures in a studio! You won’t have to worry about the weather outside either so you can wear any type of outfit you desire! These types of shoots allow you to be more creative with an idea or theme that you may have for your shoot.

Option 6: Outdoor Candid

This option is good if you just want to go to some nice parks in town to get your grad pics or if you’re from a different city and want to take pictures with the landmarks in your college town! This option also allows you to go to multiple areas to get different scenic feels for each picture.
